Replying to a journalist's question can be a tricky thing for a player. One small mistake can create a controversy which can create a negative image for the player. After winning the toss, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam decided to bat first on a flat wicket. The decision proved correct as the openers Imam Ul Haq and Abdullah Shafique (44) added 105 runs for the first wicket before the latter was caught by opposition skipper Pat Cummins. At this stage, Ali came to bat and feasted on a belter of a wicket.

Pakistan took entire two days to score the runs which left the experts amused. During the post day conference, a journalist questioned Azhar Ali's intent and slow approach to the game.

'Azhar, when players score centuries, it becomes a part of the record. And when it’s a big century, it’s even better. Both you and Imam got big hundreds but do you two realize how much did it affect the team? Imam, who was trying to make a comeback played too slow. You also did not do enough. 460 in two days, the scorecard was in front of you. Don’t you think you two could have been more courageous?” the journalist said to Azhar.
