Watch: Azam Khan’s quick stumping puts end to Shakib Al Hasan’s knock in GT20 Canada 2023 Season 3

On 24 July, Mississauga Panthers (MIP) took on Montreal Tigers (MT) in the sixth match of the ongoing Global T20 (GT20) Canada 2023 season 3 in Brampton. MIP came to this clash after losing their first two matches while MT won their first match. So, MIP were looking for their first win while MT were looking to continue their winning momentum.

However, it turned out to be another disappointing result for MIP as they suffered their third consecutive loss. Kaleem Sana won the Player of the Match award for his exceptional bowling performance. But, from that match, a video went viral where Azam Khan was seen accomplishing a quick stumping to dismiss the star Bangladesh all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan.

Chris Lynn’s unbeaten 64-run knock helped MT to chase down the target with ease 

Speaking of the dismissal, it took place during the ninth over of MT’s innings. Usman Qadir was bowling and on the first delivery of that over, Shakib missed the ball and Azam was seen with a lightning-fast stumping to dismiss the batter. He got out on 36 runs off 24 balls, including five fours and two sixes. Speaking of the match, the MT skipper, Chris Lynn won the toss and opted to bowl first. While batting first, MIP scored 140 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Navneet Dhaliwal was the highest scorer with 46 runs off 47 balls, including six fours. 

For MT, Kaleem Sana was the star with the ball as he picked up three wickets for eight runs in four overs. In reply, the MT skipper, Lynn led from the front as he smashed 64* runs off 45 balls, including nine fours and one six. Then, apart from Shakib, Sherfane Rutherford also scored 27 runs as they chased down the target in 15.5 overs with seven wickets in hand. With this win, MT are now in the second spot in the table with four points in two games. While MIP are still in the last position with three losses out of three games.
