Australian team management requests an investigation into the incident

During the ongoing afternoon session of Day Five, the Aussie team management issued an official statement, requesting the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) to look into the abuses faced by the players. They have alleged that the members verbally abused the players. Talking about the game, The Three Lions have reached 299/6, needing another 72 runs to win.

"Australian management has requested the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) investigate several incidents involving spectators in the members area during lunch on day five of the Lord's Test. It is alleged players and staff from the Australian team were verbally abused, with some being physically contacted, as they made their way to lunch through the members area."
