The Abu Dhabi T10 League is just five seasons old but the new tournament has made a special place for itself in the hearts of cricket fanatics. The fifth season is currently being played in Abu Dhabi and so far has delivered some blockbuster games.

While injuries are part and parcel of the game for players, umpires getting injured is definitely rare. However, anyone who's present on the field is vulnerable to injuries. Veteran umpire Aleem Dar recently suffered a nasty injury on his head while umpiring in a game between Chennai Braves and Northern Warriors on November 24.

The incident happened in the sixth over of the Northern Warriors inning. Kennar Lewis and Moeen Ali were going out all guns blazing and had scored 95 runs in 5.3 overs. Moeen Ali hit a boundary on the third delivery of the over. The fielder fetched the ball from the boundary and threw it back to the bowler. However, Aleem Dar was in the way and the ball hit straight on his head. Aleem looked in some discomfort and was attended by the physios before he was declared fit to continue.

Such an incident can be funny to watch but does pose a threat and can cause a serious injury. However, given that Aleem Dar was fine, everyone saw a funny side of it.

Speaking about the tournament, it has delivered action-packed cricket. Team Abu Dhabi, Deccan Gladiators, Delhi Bulls and Bangla Tigers occupy the top four positions in the points table. Northern Warriors and Chennai Braves, on the other hand, have struggled big time.
