Now, after the match, the former Team India batter, Virender Sehwag came up with a tweet to praise both teams. He wrote: “What a Test Match. One of the best I have seen in recent times. Test cricket is Best Cricket. Was a gutsy decision by England to declare just before close on Day 1, especially considering the weather. But Khawaja was outstanding in both innings and @patcummins30 is the new Mr. Cool in Test cricket. What an innings under pressure and that partnership with Lyon was one to remember for a long time. #Ashes #ENGvsAUS.”

Speaking of the match, England gave a 281-run target to the Aussies to win the game. The match was hanging in balance till the Aussie skipper, Pat Cummins came and played an outstanding knock of 44* runs to seal the match.

After the loss, Ben Stokes said: "Very proud to take it to the end of day five like that, to have all the emotions, it was so up and down. It's another game we'll never forget we've been a part of. That's what we want to do, be part of great moments, and get people on the edge of their seats. Hopefully we've managed to attract the attention of some more people to watch the Ashes for the next four games.”

“A loss is a loss. We've said how we were going to operate. Losing hurts and winning is a great feeling. We're going to keep making moves if we feel the time is right and if we end up on the wrong side of results like this, there won't be much to complain about,” he further added.
