Virat Kohli hasn't really been in the best of form of late. His form in the longest format of the game has been a concern for quite a while now. He was disappointing during the recently concluded two-match Test series against Sri Lanka as well.

The 33-year-old scored just 81 runs in three innings at an average of 27. Moreover, his game against spin was worrying, to say the least. Predominantly known as one of the better players of spin bowling, Kohli looked sceptical against the Lankan spinners. According to his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma, there seems to be a problem with the Delhi batter.

While speaking Khelneeti's Youtube channel, he requested Kohli to visit the academy sometime. He reckoned that he needs to get back to his basics. Sharma also said that he was going to have a word with Kohli.

"Virat will need to come back to his basics. I would definitely want him to come back to the academy. I was thinking about this from yesterday and I am going to talk to him. The kind of confidence that he gets batting in the academy, he needs it," said Rajkumar Sharma.

He pointed out that the batter was batting cautiously. He stated that he needs to bat a bit more freely. Sharma also gave the example of Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer to explain his point. In the meanwhile, Kohli will next be seen during the Indian T20 league.

"He is batting really well but unfortunately, he is batting too cautiously. If starts to bat a bit more freely, like he has his entire career then soon he will be back to his best. On such wickets you need to take more chances like Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer did," he added.
