Indian talismanic batter Virat Kohli, who played a crucial role in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 title win, took to his official social media handles to laud the Indian team’s explosive brand of cricket after they defended the T20 World Cup title in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8.

Taking to his official X handle, Kohli congratulated all the players and the team management on achieving a rare feat of defending the T20 World Cup title. He also went on to write that there is no match for the explosive cricket playing by Team India throughout the campaign. 

“Champions. Phenomenal win for Team India in Ahmedabad. Absolutely no match for the explosive cricket played by us throughout the tournament. Brilliant character shown by the boys to keep fighting in tough situations and become world champions once again. Congratulations to all the players and all the members of the management for achieving this feat. Jai Hind,” Virat Kohli tweeted.

Later, he also heaped praise on the Indian opening batter Sanju Samson, who emerged as the player of the tournament despite playing only a few games in the tournament. Kohli stated that he is really happy for the Kerala keeper-batter in his Instagram story. 

“What a remarkable tournament from the most well-deserved man of the tournament @imsanjusamson. You performed when it mattered the most. Really happy for you, chetta,” wrote Kohli on his Instagram story.

Sanju Samson ended the campaign with 321 runs from five innings at an average of 80.25 and a strike rate of 199.37, with three consecutive fifty-plus scores against the West Indies, England, and New Zealand.

Sahibzada Farhan, the Pakistan opener, emerged as the leading run-scorer of the campaign with 383 runs from six innings at an average of 76.6. On the other hand, Tim Seifert was the second leading run-scorer with 326 runs from eight innings at an average of 46.57.
