Virat Kohli has recently stepped down from his captaincy responsibilities of the national team. This decision of Kohli was followed by his decision to give up Bangalore’s captaincy as well.
Virat Kohli was appointed the captain of the Bangalore franchise in 2013. Since that year, Virat Kohli has captained Bangalore in 9 of their Indian T20 League campaigns. Bangalore reached the finals once during Kohli’s tenure as their captain but failed to lift the trophy.
Due to the drought of trophies during his reins as the captain of Bangalore, Virat Kohli stepped down from the role after the end of the 2021 season. Since then, Bangalore has been looking for an apt candidate to lead their team in the next and upcoming seasons.
Rumours were already flying that the new South African inclusion into the squad, Faf du Plessis is set to lead the Bangalore team in the upcoming seasons. However, as per reports Bangalore has not accepted the resignation from Kohli. This technically means that Virat Kohli is still the captain of the Bangalore team. If this is true, there couldn't be a more delightful news for the Kohli fans.

They will be eagerly waiting to see what this turn of events results in. Meanwhile, the franchise is all set to reveal their skipper on March 12 via an event in Bangalore.
We’re taking over Museum Cross Road, Church Street and turning into a carnival like atmosphere for the #RCBUnbox event. 🤩🥳
