The beneficiaries of the latest rankings for the batters were South Africa batter Aiden Markram and Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan. Markram has been in fine form and scored 40 and 51 against Australia and West Indies respectively. With two vital knocks, he has jumped to career-best third position in the rankings.

On the other hand, Rizwan’s 79 was the cornerstone of Pakistan’s memorable victory over India. He put on a 152-run stand with skipper Babar Azam and enabled the team to win its first game against India in the 20-20 World Cup. Rizwan has been in scintillating form in T20Is this year and has scored 831 runs. The elegant right-hand batter is currently placed fourth behind Azam, Dawid Malan, and Markram.

Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz also gained places and is slotted at number 12. The batter scored 46 against Scotland and enabled the team to reach a mammoth score of 190. On the other hand, among the all-rounders, talismanic Bangladesh cricketer Shakib-al-Hasan has regained the top spot due to his stupendous performance. He is the highest wicket-taker in the global event and has picked 11 wickets in just four games at an astonishing average of 6.45.
