Former England captain Michael Vaughan would be surprised if England can pull off a win against India in the second Test at a pitch that he believes is similar to a ‘beach’.

“If England wins this week having lost the toss on this beach … it will be a remarkable Victory … #INDvENG,” tweeted Vaughan

Contrary to the surface that we saw in the first Test, the pitch in the 2nd Test seems to be a rank turner. In the first session itself, Jack Leach and Moeen Ali got the ball to turn sharply, proving that is a very good toss to win for the home side.

Put in to bowl, England removed Shubman Gill early as the opener misjudged an inswinger and was caught plumb for a duck. Jack Leach then bowled a magnificent delivery to get rid of Cheatshwar Pujara. Then came the big moment in the match where Moeen Ali stunned Kohli with a peach for 0. The ball pitch outside off and turned in sharply, getting past the bat of Kohli who was looking to play a drive.

India were in deep trouble before Rahane joined an on song Rohit Sharma to stitch an unbeaten 100 run stand. While the ball was turning square, Rohit looked in complete command and stroked a magnificent 100 to help India recover from 86-3 to 189 - 3 at Tea.
