Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s father reveals big advice from RR’s Rahul Dravid after IPL 2025 success

Young talent has always been showcased in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has captured the attention in a way never seen before.  He is already being hailed as a potential contender for Indian cricket, despite the fact that he is still in the early stages of his career.  He must first establish himself in the Under-16, Under-19, and India A divisions in order to get to that level.

When Suryavanshi was selected by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, it was his big break.  He made an impression right away, hitting a six off his opening delivery.  He became the youngest centurion in IPL history with a scorching 101 off 36 balls in his first game against the Gujarat Titans.  His achievement attracted national and international notice.

Prior to traveling to the UK to train with the India Under-19 squad, Suryavanshi had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who encouraged the budding athlete. But the unexpected attention also drew criticism. After his spectacular IPL debut, questions were raised over his physical fitness.

"No, he no longer consumes junk food. He now goes to the gym and eats a healthy diet. "He's trying to lose the weight he gained," his father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, told Dainik Jagran.

The growth of the young cricket player was greatly aided by Rahul Dravid, the current head coach of the Rajasthan Royals and a former captain of India. Dravid enthusiastically honored Suryavanshi's centennial despite being on crutches.

He also gave the young player some very important advice: when bowlers start paying serious attention to his game, that's when the true test starts.

Sanjeev shared a key moment with Dravid: “Rahul Sir said, ‘Your work is done. Now he’s our responsibility. He’s part of our family. Just keep him away from mobile phones and internet distractions. We’ll turn him into someone who can play for India.’”

Suryavanshi is headed in the right direction under Dravid's methodical direction and that of the Royals' administration. In order to prepare for what might be an incredible future, he is currently concentrating on improving his talents with the India Under-19 team in the UK.
