Team India will begin their three-match T20I series in Ireland on 18 August 2023. Before that, they played a full-fledged tour in West Indies. They won both the Test and ODI series but lost the five-match T20I series 3-2. India have always been a force to reckon with in bilaterals. But, in recent times, fans have observed some dip in that form.

Now, reports have come out, the secretary of the Indian Cricket Board, Jay Shah had a two-hour-long meeting with Team India’s head coach and the former Team India international, Rahul Dravid in the USA. Before the fourth and fifth T20I vs the Windies, Dravid personally drove down to meet him in Florida. Shaha visited Miami in a personal capacity. After listening to such reports, fans shared their views on social media.    

Rahul Dravid became Team India’s head coach after Ravi Shastri

Rahul Dravid enjoyed great success while working with junior cricketers. So, after Ravi Shastri’s tenure, fans were looking forward to him as he became the head coach of India in November 2021. But, under his tenure so far, the team have faced several big losses when it mattered most. First, they lost the 5th Test in England and ended up drawing the Test series. India lost both the World Test Championship (WTC) finals against New Zealand and Australia. They failed to qualify for the final of the Asia Cup 2022 and even failed to qualify for the final of the 20-20 World Cup in Australia.

In recent months, the Men in Blue suffered an ODI series loss in Bangladesh and both the Test and ODI series loss in South Africa. Only, at home, they have shown their full capability against all opposition. However, Australia still managed to win an ODI series in India. So, it will be interesting to see how Rahul Dravid would guide the team as both the Asia Cup 2023 and the 2023 ODI World Cup are on the horizon. Otherwise, he could be sacked if Rohit Sharma and his men continue to fail.
