The 16th edition of the Indian T20 League is all set to begin on 31 March 2023. Chennai will take on the defending champion, Gujarat in the tournament opener in Ahmedabad. So, fans are waiting to see an enthralling battle between two slides, especially between MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya.

Now, on the eve of the clash, some drizzle occurred in Ahmedabad when the whole Chennai team were busy in an intense net session. They shared a video on their social media platform where all players were seen rushing back to the dressing room as soon as the rain came. Even, MS Dhoni and other players were seen enjoying Jalebi, and Fafda.

Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views on the social media platform. It was quite surprising to see players enjoying such foods on the eve of the opening match. The images of MS Dhoni having such foods have now gone viral. Meanwhile, there were some reports that Dhoni might not play in the opening match as he sustained a knee injury during a training session. There might be some discomfort in his left knee. Even, during the intra-squad match, he was hesitant to bat and did not look comfortable while running. The Chennai skipper was seen limping to the crease several times. 

So, fans were worried that whether Dhoni will be able to play or not in the opening match of this upcoming edition against the Gujarat franchise. But, regarding that, the CEO of the franchise, Kasi Viswanathan (to PTI) said: "As far as I am concerned, the skipper is 100 percent playing. I don't know about any other development." However, if Dhoni fails to turn up for the match, then Devon Conway might do the wicket-keeping duties while Ruturaj Gaikwad or Ambati Rayudu might lead the team.
