On 30 April 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locked horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the ongoing IPL at Chennai. MS Dhoni and his men came to this clash after losing their last game against Rajasthan Royals (RR). In that match, CSK fell short by 32 runs while chasing 203 runs at Jaipur.
However, that day, during the chase, MS Dhoni did not come out to bat. So, fans claimed that he should have come as that could help the team to chase down the target. Most of the time in this edition, Dhoni has come out to bat at number eight. Still, he managed to produce some impactful cameos for his teams.

MS Dhoni has now hit eight sixes in IPL 2023
Before this clash, MS Dhoni scored 61 runs in eight matches, with an average of 61. In five innings, he has remained not out on four occasions. But, what impressed everyone most was that Dhoni managed to hit six sixes. So, all CSK fans at Chepauk were eagerly waiting to see him in action again against PBKS. Speaking of the match, CSK won the toss and opted to bat first. Both Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway gave a great start. Conway continued his good form with the bat and scored 92* runs off 52 balls, including 16 fours and one six. But, at one stage, CSK were struggling to reach 200 when they lost their fifth wicket on the first delivery of the 20th over.
Then, MS Dhoni came out to bat and the whole crowd went crazy seeing him. But, on the first delivery, Dhoni failed to connect the slower ball from Sam Curran. Then, he managed a single on the following delivery. After that, he came to the striker's end for the last two deliveries of the innings. CSK were 188 runs for five wickets at that stage. But, Dhoni showed his magic again as he smashed Curran for two consecutive sixes and helped CSK to post 200 runs on the board. On the fifth delivery, he upper-cut the ball over point, and on the final delivery, he dispatched a low full toss over deep midwicket for a 88m six.
Here is how fans went crazy seeing Dhoni’s two consecutive sixes:
