Sarfaraz Khan, the Indian batter, is yet to get his national call-up for team India and the right-handed aggressive batter scored his 12 century in FC cricket against Tamil Nadu in a Ranji Trophy on Day 2 of the match that kicked off on January 3, Tuesday. On Wednesday, it was all about Sarfaraz as he came all out against the Tamil Nadu bowlers, eventually scoring a mighty 162.

Before this game, the batter gathered 3175 runs at an average of over 75 in the format and fans have been claiming that Sarfaraz must earn his Test call-up at the earliest. As soon as he hit his 12th century, fans took to social media and claimed that the Indian batter must be a part of the Indian squad for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar trophy.

Sarfaraz Khan in place of Rishabh Pant?

As things stand, Mumbai put on 481 runs on the board at the end of their first innings post wrapping up Tamil Nadu for just 144 runs in their first innings and much to the dreariness of the fans of the latter team, Tamil Nadu were reeling at 62/1, trailing by 275 runs and it remained to be seen if the team would make a comeback in the game.

If at all the Indian team management rope in Sarfaraz for the Border-Gavaskar trophy, the player who could make way for him would have to be a batter as Pant is a full-time wicketkeeper. On the other hand, KS Bharat, who has been on the sidelines for most of the Test series, would get a go-ahead as a front-line wicketkeeper in the upcoming series.

On the other hand, Sarfaraz would hope to make a cut to the Indian squad somehow and if he is kept out of action despite his strong numbers in the domestic arena, it could come as a headache for the Indian cricket board who are already facing criticism for their continued poor choices when it comes to team selection for important series and multinational tournaments.

As things stand, let us take a look at a few Twitter reactions to Sarfaraz Khan's 12 century in the FC format:
