Amit Mishra, the Indian leg spinner, is all set to enter the mini-auction for the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League set to take place in Kochi on December 23. The teams are giving it their all to prepare for the strategic day, rope in their desired players and to find the right balance ahead of the much-anticipated season.
As far as Mishra is concerned, the veteran announced that he would be giving it a shot and added that he could go on for two more years, claiming that he has a bit of cricket left in him yet. The spinner, who was a part of the Delhi franchise earlier, has gathered 166 wickets in the tournament so far with the 2013 season still being the best with 21 wickets to his name.
“I've some 2-3 years of cricket left in me I am hopeful to be bought by a franchise in the Indian T20 League,” Mishra was quoted as saying ahead of the mini-auction. Although one could argue that the veteran was not a part of the tournament last year, Mishra could come in handy for teams who are looking for temporary solutions by filling in their spots with a leg spinner.

Who could go big in Indian T20 League mini-auction?
With the Indian T20 League mini-auction just days away, the likes of Sam Curran, Ben Stokes and Cameron Green are expected to bag the highest bids, given that the trio have been in tremendous form of late and in the shortest format of the game in specific. While Curran and the English Test captain already have the experience of playing in the highly competitive contest, Green would hope to start off his Indian T20 League career in style.
Joe Root, the former English captain, is also a part of the upcoming auction and it remains to be seen if either of the teams would pick him up. Jason Holder, the allrounder from West Indies, is also expected to attract a few bids, which might place him among those with the highest bids post the conclusion of the auction.
As things stand, let us take a look at a few Twitter reactions to Amit Mishra’s statement:
