Lucknow have won their fourth game of the Indian T20 league 2022. Owing to a spectacular performance by their skipper KL Rahul, the Lucknow-based franchise beat Mumbai by 18 runs. After being asked to bat first, Lucknow started strongly. Their openers put on a 50-run partnership before Quinton de Kock was dismissed in the sixth over. KL Rahul and Manish Pandey then went on to take their team to a dominant position.

The Karnataka duo added 72 runs. They took the likes of Tymal Mills and Fabian Allen to the cleaners. In fact, the English pacer had a day to forget as the opposition batters didn't show any mercy on him. He went for 54 runs in just three overs.

Despite Pandey's dismissal, the captain led from the front and went on to play a gem of a knock. His 100th Indian T20 league game turned out to be a memorable one as he scored his third hundred in this league. As a matter of fact, he became the first player to score a hundred in his 100th game. His unbeaten 103 consisted of nine boundaries and five sixes.

Deepak Hooda played a handy cameo of 15 from just eight deliveries. Thus, the Lucknow-based franchise got to 199-4 in the first innings. Having said that, Mumbai's bowlers did pull things back to an extent as they bowled well in the last five overs. As for the second innings, the Mumbai-based franchise saw their openers fail once again.

Sharma's bad form continued as he had to depart for just six. Ishan Kishan was quick to follow him as he was dismissed for 13, and consumed 17 balls for the same. However, Dewald Brevis played some eye-pleasing shots and impressed one and all. His cameo ended after he hit a full toss straight to the fielder.

The five-time champions kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Although some lusty blows from Kieron Pollard and Jaydev Unadkat gave the Mumbai fans something to cheer about, they still fell short of their target by 18 runs. Several fans took to Twitter to speak about the match.
