On 1 February 2023, team India locked horns with New Zealand in the third and last T20I in Ahmedabad. After losing the series opener, team India bounced back in the second game. So, both teams were looking to win the match in order to win the series. Both Indian spinners failed miserably in the first two matches. 


Hence, fans were hoping to see Prithvi Shaw in action in this clash. But, team India went with the same openers again while they brought back Umran Malik in place of Yuzvendra Chahal. On the other hand, the Kiwis gave a debut cap to Ben Lister. However, Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first.

For the Men in Blue, Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill came out to open the innings. But, the southpaw batter failed again as he scored just one run off three balls. But, Shubman Gill showed his class in T20Is also. He scored his maiden ton in the shortest format of the game. He remained not out on 126* runs off 63 balls, including 12 fours and seven sixes. Along with him, Rahul Tripathi scored 44 runs off 22 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes. Both Suryakumar Yadav and the skipper Hardik Pandya scored 24 and 30 runs respectively.


Finally, they scored 234 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. For the Kiwis, Michael Bracewell, Blair Tickner, Ish Sodhi, and Daryl Mitchell took one wicket each. In reply, New Zealand batters looked completely miserable. They lost their first four wickets for just seven runs in 2.4 overs. After seven overs, they scored only 38 runs after losing five wickets. Only Daryl Mitchell showed some fight as he scored 35 runs off 25 balls. They got bundled out for just 66 runs in 12.1 overs. With that win, Hardik Pandya won another bilateral series as captain of the Men in Blue.
