The Indian team is lagging behind in the ongoing final match of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 against Australia. Asked to bat first, the Australian team scored  469 runs in the first innings. Steve Smith and Travis Head both scored brilliant centuries and also stitched a humongous 285-run stand for the 4th wicket. In response, India have already lost five wickets while scoring 151 runs at the end of the second day.

Meanwhile, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who is not a part of the Indian squad in the WTC final, is enjoying the match from his home. He shared a photo on Instagram while watching the match, along with this photo, he also shared a 'crossed finger' and ‘heart’ emoji. Many fans have reacted to this and have asked him to make a comeback soon in the field.

In December 2022, Pant was a victim of a car horrific accident and was seriously injured. He is still recovering from the injuries he sustained during the accident and now it will take several months for him to return to the field. For this reason, he is not playing in the final of WTC. Right-handed wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat is included in the team as Pant’s replacement.
