Meanwhile former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir took to Twitter to congratulate Najam Sethi.

“Right man for the right job congratulations to Najam Sethi sir,” read the tweet posted by Mohammed Amir on his Twitter handle.

But it was an unfortunate one for Amir as this tweet from him didn’t go down well with a section of the Pakistan cricket fans. They took to Twitter to lash out at the former 20-20 World Cup winner pacer.

Here’s how fans lashed out at Mohammad Amir:

Notably, Mohammad Amir was banned from international cricket for five years for being involved in an infamous spot-fixing scandal that happened during the Lord’s Test against England. The incident that happened in 2010 also involved the then-skipper Salman Butt and star pacer Mohammad Asif.

Butt and Amir have been slapped with bans of 7 and 10 years respectively from international cricket. Although the ban from Amir was revoked in 2015 he couldn’t cement his spot in the team permanently.

He was also in the media headlines due to his harsh terms with the former chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board Ramiz Raja. The former had also used some harsh words for Raja in a TV show during the 20-20 World Cup 2022.

Amir played a total of 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 50 T20Is to take 259 international wickets, he was dubbed as the perfect replacer of Wasim Akram in the earlier phase of his career. But unfortunately, the spot-fixing scandal happened to end the things for Punjab-born pacer.
