Team India won another series in the white-ball format at home in 2023. First, they defeated Sri Lanka in the ODI and T20I series. Then, they registered a victory over the Kiwis in the ODI and T20I series. However, all senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been given a rest from the recent T20I series.  Hence, young players like Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan got a chance.

Both these players played as openers in the series. But, Ishan Kishan failed to show his class in all three innings. While Shubman Gill also failed in the first two matches. But, in the third and final match, Gill scored his maiden T20I ton in Ahmedabad. After that match, Gill shared a funny reel on his Instagram account including Ishan Kishan and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Speaking of the video, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, and Yuzvendra Chahal were seen recreating an audition episode of the popular youth show MTV Roadies. Ishan became the star of the video as he jumped like a gorilla. Fans found the video funny and that has now gone viral all over the internet. But some fans also claimed that Shubman Gill needs to keep himself away from the southpaw batter. Speaking of their form, Ishan scored just 24 runs in three innings in the T20I series. While Shubman Gill lit up the Ahmedabad stadium after scoring 126* runs off 63 balls. 

Fans were not happy with such poor form from the Jharkhand batter. Both he and Gill were given chances in all three matches ahead of the explosive opening batter Prithvi Shaw. Gill came up with a fantastic knock but the way Ishan batted, fans slammed him and asked the team management for his removal. However, both of these players will be seen in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against the Aussies, starting on 9 February 2023 in Nagpur.
