Bangalore franchise will kick off their campaign in the Indian T20 League on 2 April 2023 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. They will face the Mumbai franchise as all big-name players like Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and others will be in action also. However, this franchise have failed to win this prestigious trophy for a single time so far.

Despite having top players from different countries over the years, Bangalore have failed to win the tournament. But, surprisingly, in the last two editions, this franchise have won the most number of matches than other teams. In the 2021 season, they won nine games while winning eight games in 2022. Only the Delhi franchise have won the same number of games in the last two editions.

Bangalore have qualified for three finals so far in the history of the Indian T20 League

Bangalore have played three finals so far in 2009, 2011, and 2016 respectively. But, on all three occasions, they finished on the wrong side. In the last season, they put up a great show until getting lost against Rajasthan in the second playoff. So, fans are hoping for a better performance from the side this time around. On 26 March, the franchise organised an Unbox event at their home ground in order to launch their new jersey for the new season. They also inducted both AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle into the Hall of Fame and retired their jerseys.

Speaking about the chances of winning the upcoming edition, the former Protea batter said that the team is looking good and as fans, we need to support them. De Villiers said: “I think the team is too good at the moment. We won't get a chance in the starting XI. We would rather be fans and support the boys to bring the Trophy back home. Ee Saala Cup Namde (This year, the trophy is our's)”. Seeing the number of this franchise winning the most matches in the last two seasons, fans were not happy and they claimed that it does not matter that much as the trophy cabinet is still empty.
