Mumbai and Delhi are all set to battle it out in the first day game of the Indian T20 league 2022. Both teams would want to start their campaign on a positive note. Over the years, there have been some entertaining games between these two sides.

The head-to-head record between them is really close as well. So which are the three best games between these two teams? Today, we shall be taking a look at the top three best matches between Mumbai and Delhi.

1) Delhi vs Mumbai (2018):

This was one game that the Mumbai fans would want to erase from their memory. With this being a must-win game for the Mumbai-based franchise to proceed to the playoffs, Delhi denied them a chance to do so.

Chasing a target of 175, things came down to the final over as Mumbai needed 18 runs to qualify. Ben Cutting hit a six off the first ball and Mumbai out of nowhere went ahead in the game. Post that, he lost his wicket and Delhi managed to make a spectacular comeback. Despite finishing at the bottom of the points table in that edition, this thriller was one of the most memorable games for Delhi in that particular season.

2) Delhi vs Mumbai (2016):

During the ninth edition of the league, Delhi managed to win a close contest against the five-time champions. After being asked to bat first, Delhi scored 164-4 owing to Sanju Samson's 60 off 48 balls. He was well supported by JP Duminy, who scored an unbeaten 49.

During the second innings, the Sharma-led side kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The captain tried his best and went on to score 65 but to no avail. In the end, they fell short of the target by 10 runs.

3) Mumbai vs Delhi (2017):

Among all the low-scoring encounters between the two teams, this has to be the best. Mumbai were able to score just 142 in the first innings. However, that proved to be a lot as Delhi had a batting collapse during the second innings.

At one point, it seemed as if Mumbai would win the game rather comfortably but Chris Morris and Kagiso Rabada kept Delhi's hope's alive. Yet, their knocks weren't enough as the Mumbai-based franchise won the game by 14 runs.
