The 20-20 World Cup has revolutionised cricket since its inception in 2007. The first edition of the tournament paved the way for its massive success in the coming years as several big strikers of the game unleashed their beast mode on the field. There have been several colossal sixes hit in the eight editions of the tournament so far with the batters leaving the crowd awestruck with their stupendous six-hitting prowess.

5 Junaid Siddique (109m - 2022)

UAE were up against Sri Lanka in the sixth match of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. After losing their respective first matches, both teams faced off in a must-win game to advance to the Super 12 stage. A loss in this match meant the end of their campaign.

Chasing 153 to win, UAE were in all sorts of trouble after losing nine batters for a total of 56. However, Junaid Siddique gave a moment to rejoice to the fans on the second delivery of the 17th over. The cricketer picked in the team for his right-arm medium-fast bowling, hit a monstrous 109m six leaving everyone in the ground awestruck. Following the colossal hit, he flexed his biceps for everyone to see.

4 Misbah-Ul-Haq (111m – 2007)

Pakistan faced the mighty Australia in the 18th match of the first edition of the 20-20 World Cup in 2007. Pakistan lost for wickets for just 46 runs in pursuit of their target of 165. The right-handed batter Misbah-ul-Haq took it upon himself to rescue his team with a heroic knock of 66 runs.

Nathan Bracken was given the responsibility to win the game for his side as Pakistan needed 13 runs off 12 balls. Misbah smashed a 111-metre-six on the third ball of the over to take his team closer to victory. Pakistan went on to win the match by six wickets and five balls remaining.

3 Andre Russel (111m -2021)

West Indian batters were seen struggling against Australian bowlers during a Super 12 match of the 20-20 World Cup 2021. However, Andre Russel infused vitality in their innings as he walked to the crease. He clobbered 18 runs off just seven deliveries, smashing two gigantic sixes.

Russel ripped apart Mitchell Starc in the final over of the West Indies innings, as the right-hander, known for his ability to butcher bowlers mercilessly, unleashed his beast mode on the star pacer. Russel hit two sixes on the last two deliveries of the innings. His six on the penultimate ball travelled a whopping 111 metres.

2 Liam Livingstone (112m -2021)

Liam Livingstone has risen through the ranks since his debut in 2017 and developed a reputation for taking on quality bowlers. In the 20-20 World Cup 2021 match against South Africa, the right-handed English batter put his power-hitting prowess on display with his ruthless batting.

Livingstone hit Kagiso Rabada, South Africa’s best bowler, for two gigantic sixes. One of the hits which went over square leg travelled 112 metres, surpassing Russell’s previous record of 111 metres.

1 Yuvraj Singh (119m -2007)

Yuvraj was instrumental in helping India win the inaugural 20-20 World Cup in 2007. In the same edition, the left-hander demonstrated that hitting long sixes in T20 is second nature to him. His record of the fastest-ever half-century in T20Is, with the help of six sixes in an over against England, was the talk of the town.

However, his crucial 70-run knock of 30 balls against Australia in the tournament’s semi-finals holds a special place in history. On the last delivery of the tenth over, Yuvraj smashed Brett Lee’s delivery over the square leg, clearing the stands and becoming the tournament’s longest maximum by covering 119 metres.
