However, in all these upcoming series and events, they will play cricket in both the ODI and T20I formats. So, there will be no Test cricket for the team until their tour of South Africa in December. In that tour, they will play a three-match T20I, a three-match ODI, and a two-match Test series. Hence, fans shared their views on social media.

India will kick off the tour of South Africa in December 2023

Speaking about the team, senior players are all set to take a rest in the shortest format of the game in the context of the upcoming ODI World Cup. Before that event, they will play an ODI series against the Aussies at home. Meanwhile, there are several players like Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Prasidh Krishna who are yet to recover from their sustained injuries. They are currently in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. Regarding their progress, the Indian Cricket Board shared a recent update.

In a media release, they wrote that Rishabh Pant has started having batting and wicketkeeping sessions in nets. While Bumrah and Krishna have started to get involved in intense bowling sessions in nets. Both Rahul and Iyer have also resumed batting in nets. So, if these players managed to get fit by the start of the World Cup, that will be a great boost for Rohit Sharma. As per recent reports, Bumrah and Iyer might make a comeback into the side in the upcoming T20I series in Ireland in August.
