As Virat Kohli isn't the Bangalore skipper anymore, they need a new captain. Who better than the Australian, who led Hyderabad to their maiden title in 2016. Warner could prove to be the perfect solution to all of Bangalore's problems. Besides, having him at the top of the order reduces the pressure on Kohli. As KL Rahul won't be playing for the Punjab this time around, they need a run-machine at the top of the order. Having Warner open the innings for the Punjab-based franchise ensures that they can consistently get those explosive starts. An important point to be noted is the fact that they head into the mega auction with the highest purse (INR 72 crore) and thus, wouldn't mind spending the extra bucks to acquire his services.
