David Warner is arguably the greatest batter in the history of the Indian T20 league. He has scored 5449 runs at an average of 41.6 in this league. Moreover, he has won the Orange Cap thrice. However, despite all his achievements, Hyderabad didn't retain him ahead of the mega auction. Thus, several teams would want him in their side. Today, we shall be taking a look at three teams that might target David Warner in the mega auction.

1) Bangalore:

As Virat Kohli isn't the Bangalore skipper anymore, they need a new captain. Who better than the Australian, who led Hyderabad to their maiden title in 2016. Warner could prove to be the perfect solution to all of Bangalore's problems. Besides, having him at the top of the order reduces the pressure on Kohli. While the 33-year-old can play the role of an anchor, Warner can attack from ball one. Moreover, the Bangalore-based franchise has had a history of purchasing world-class batters.

2) Punjab:

As KL Rahul won't be playing for the Punjab this time around, they need a run-machine at the top of the order. Having Warner open the innings for the Punjab-based franchise ensures that they can consistently get those explosive starts. An important point to be noted is the fact that they head into the mega auction with the highest purse (INR 72 crore) and thus, wouldn't mind spending the extra bucks to acquire his services. Fans of the Punjab would desperately hope that their team succeeds in purchasing the Aussie opener.

3) Kolkata

Kolkata badly need a captain. Moreover, they need a captain who can lead from the front. Thus, among all the players who will go down the hammer this time around, Warner seems to be the ideal choice for the two-time champions. Besides, they have always believed in aggression at the top. Thus, it won't be surprising if the Knights go all out on the 35-year-old.
