But he didn’t get a chance to appear in even a single T20I match for India till now. Selectors went on to the extent of ignoring him when they picked the second-string squads that toured Ireland, West Indies, and Zimbabwe for the bilateral assignments in white-ball cricket.

The 22-year0-old young leggie has played 10 T20Is in the Indian colors at the highest level of the game. Two years back, he impressed everyone by ending up being the leading wicket-taker in the U-19 World Cup 2020. Later on, the selectors went on to pick him for the home assignment against West Indies. He lived up to expectations and performed brilliantly whenever he got the opportunity.

Last year, when the second part of the Indian T20 League was being played, Chahal was stunning everyone with his performances while playing for Bangalore.

But, in a surprising line of decisions, selectors preferred the inexperienced Rahul Chahar over Yuzvendra Chahal. Fans were also in angst over the selection committee for ignoring the second-highest wicket-taker for India in the T20Is.
