Former Indian skipper and veteran batter, Virat Kohli scored an ODI century after a long wait of three years since the last one he scored in three years back in the year 2019. The 34-year-old modern-day Indian batting great scored this century today against Bangladesh in the last fixture of the ODI series.
Notably, it was also the 72nd international century for Virat Kohli and he has now surpassed the former Australian great Ricky Ponting. He is now only behind the former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar who had 100 international centuries to his name,
Apart from that, the veteran Delhi batter has scored his 44th ODI century and become the fastest batter to achieve this feat in only the 256th inning of his ODI career. Earlier, the record was registered to the name of Sachin Tendulkar who scored his 44th ODI century in the 418th inning of his career.
Alongside his batting heroics, Virat Kohli also attracted the headlines of social media with some expletives he used after completing his century against Bangladesh.
“three fu***ng years boys”, Kohli heard saying immediately at the moment when he took off his helmet and raised the bat. The Sony Sports Network shared this video on the social media platform, Twitter.

Speaking of the match between India and Bangladesh, the men in blue posted a mammoth total of 409 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs, thanks to the outstanding knocks from Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli. Ishan smashed 210 runs off just 131 balls with 24 boundaries and 10 sixes to his name. Whereas Virat scored his 44th international century with 113 runs off 91 balls with 11 boundaries and two sixes to his name.
While chasing the target, the hosts could score only 182 runs in 34 overs and lost their all wickets. Eventually, India won the match by 227 runs to end the three-match ODI series on a winning note. Bangladesh won the series by a margin of 2-1 and won another ODI series against the men in blue once again after seven years since the last time they won in the year 2015.
Now both teams will lock horns with each other in the upcoming three-match Test series starting on Wednesday, the 14th of December. Indian team might miss their regular skipper Rohit Sharma as he sustained a thumb injury during the second of the three-match ODI series.
