Shubman Gill in WTC 2023 final (Image Source: Twitter)
Shubman Gill came to the World Test Championship (WTC) final after winning the Orange Cap in the recently concluded IPL while playing for Gujarat Titans (GT). Even, before that tournament, he was scoring runs for fun in the international arena. He also smashed a century in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against the Aussies.
So, fans were hoping to see him score big in the final. But, in the first innings, Gill scored 13 runs and in the second innings, he scored 18 runs. However, in the second innings, his dismal created controversy and he also shared his disappointment on social media. Now, after Australia defeated India by 209 runs on 11 June, Gill came up with a tweet and after seeing that, fans have now shared their views on social media.
Here is the shared tweet:

“Third umpire should have seen a little more replays” - Rohit Sharma
Speaking of the tweet, he shared an image of Team India with a caption: “Not finished.” About his controversial dismissal, skipper Rohit Sharma opened up after the final loss while speaking to reporters in the post-match press conference. He said: “I just felt disappointed. Third umpire should have seen a little more replays, a little more on how the catch is been held. I think three or four times he saw, and he was convinced with it.”
"It's not about whether it was given out or not-out, you need to have a proper and clear information about anything. It's not about the catch, so that is something I was little disappointed with. The decision was made quite quickly, when a catch like that is being taken you need to be more than 100 percent sure. It's final, we were at that important stage of the game as well, so that was a little bit disappointing and more camera angles should have been shown. There were only one or two camera angles that were shown,” he further added.
“We've got more angles in IPL, we've got 10 different angles in IPL. I don't know why in a world event like this, there was no ultra-motion that was seen, or any kind of zoomed image, that is what I was little disappointed with,” Rohit concluded.
Here is how fans have reacted:
