After facing another defeat just after the last loss against Pakistan in the first match of the super-4, the Indian side has been virtually eliminated from the list of favorites in contention to the fight for the final. This performance of the Indian team under the leadership of Rohit Sharma didn’t go down well with the Indian cricket fans and they lashed out at the skipper for his managerial skills on the field while leading the team.

Here's how Twitter reacted to Rohit Sharma’s captaincy:

Everyone including experts and cricket fans was in believe that Asia Cup would be an experimental setup before the commencement of the T20 World 2022 in Australia. Although, the things that happened with India states that every step for India during this campaign has backfired because the management is concerned about the form of big players like Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli.

Talking about the match between India and Sri Lanka, then the Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and asked the Indians to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Indian team managed to post a total of 173 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma scored the highest individual inning of 72 runs off 41 balls with five boundaries and four sixes.

While chasing the target, the opening pair of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis provided a very strong start for Sri Lanka. They both scored half-centuries and other than that, they stitched a partnership of 97 runs for the first wicket in 11.1 overs.

In the end, skipper Dasun Shanaka played a brilliant captaincy knock of 33 runs off just 18 balls to cross the line for Sri Lanka. On the backs of these stellar performances, Sri Lanka went ahead of the finishing line in the 19.5 overs
