The 4-match Test series is being played between India and Australia which was kicked off on February 9 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground in Nagpur. However, before the start of the Test series, there were a lot of talks about two premium Australian batters, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne.

Both these batters got starts but couldn't convert those into big scores. Meanwhile, the no.1 Test batter, Labuschagne talked about his batting after the end of the day's play and said that he learned some of the shots he played during the innings by watching Virat Kohli.

“Yeah, it’s always nice when Virat thinks you have played a decent shot there. There are a few shots I definitely learned from him,” Labuschagne was quoted as saying in an interview on Sen Cricket.

“We are here to win the series, so we are going to make sure that we work as hard as we possibly can and fight our way back into the match by putting up a special performance with the bat... Just what I thought he was going to do. His temperament as a person gave me a lot of confidence coming into this game. His skills are high, he’s got the changes and angles. He has got the craft. He looks like a special talent and it’s nice to see him do well,” Labuschagne said.

Ravindra Jadeja took a fifer in his comeback match

Talking about the match, the Australian team was reduced to 177 runs in their first innings on the very first day of the Nagpur Test. Labuschagne top-scored with 49 runs. At the same time, Smith also played an inning of 37 off 107. For the Indian team, Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin played an important role in wrapping up the Kangaroo team quickly. At the end of the first day's play, the Indian team had scored 77 runs in their first innings for the loss of 1 wicket.

India have reduced the deficit to just 100 runs with 9 wickets still in hand. There was so much talk about the pitch coming into this Test. But this is no minefield as India have shown with the bat. There was hardly any chance created till Murphy got one to bite sharply againstKL Rahul.
