Former Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh is counted amongst the greatest Indian batters to have ever graced the game of cricket. The left-handed batsman was a crowd puller, who used the leave his fans in awe with sumptuous flicks and elegant cover-drives. He was once an integral cog in India’s batting unit.
The southpaw has won India numerous games with his fearless batting. Yuvraj Singh is majorly remembered for his significant contribution for India in the ICC 2011 World Cup. Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, India won that edition of the World Cup and Yuvraj Singh played a major role with both bat and ball in the tournament. He was also adjudged as the Man of the Series in the tournament.
Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement from iInternational cricket in June 2019. Though, he actively remains involved in the game and often share his opinions on his social media handle. However, the fans aren’t too pleased with his recent tweet, where he took a dig at Ravichandran Ashwin.
In his tweet, Yuvraj Singh praised Jos Buttler for exhibiting sportsman spirit during the last game between Rajasthan and Gujarat. However, in the same post, he wrote something which irked fans.
We still have gentleman in the game of cricket !!! @josbuttler 👏🏽 other players should learn from him specially team mates !!! #IPL2022 #RRvGT

Yuvraj Singh’s tweet came after Jos Buttler’s fielding effort in the 12th over of the Gujarat’s innings. Standing at long on, Jos Buttler ran towards his right to stop the ball reaching the boundary ropes. Buttler covered good ground and it looked like his diving effort has stopped the ball reaching the rope. However, the Englishman wasn’t too sure and he told the on-field umpire to check it with the third umpire. As it turned out, it was a four as his hands had touched the boundary ropes.
To that, Yuvraj Singh heaped praise on Buttler but also added that other players, especially his teammates should learn from him. Apparently, he took a dig at Ashwin, who mankaded Buttler in the 2019 edition of the Indian T20 League.
Yuvraj’s remark didn’t go down too well with the fans, who criticized the former for that. Here are some of the reactions from the fans following Yuvraj’s tweet.

If he is referring to Ashwin, it’s just a cheap shot. Anyway Ashwin is doing the right thing and is a trendsetter.

He's one of the smartest minds in the game and people can't cope with that
Why so much hate.

It takes time to earn respect but just moments to lose it.
Saltyness nahi jaega tum logo ka kabhi bhi , that's why you'll never be loved the way MS gets loved.

You could have appreciated Buttler without targeting Ashwin , but nahi
And Ashwin doesn't need your certificate to be a Gentlemen , he was one and he'll always be one...
We should just unfollow some 'superstars' post their retirement. Don't want to develop any hatred against them, whom we had respected so much. Let's just retire them from our memories as the ones who won us World Cup and many other memorable matches.
