India suffered an 8-wicket loss in the fifth game and thus, lost the five-match T20I series 3-2. Seeing such a disappointing performance, fans were not happy. The Windies have been terrible in both the white ball formats in recent times. They failed to qualify for the 2022 20-20 World Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Still, India failed to win this series against them and that did not go well with their fans. Before this series, they won the three-match ODI series 2-1.  The ODI World Cup is on the horizon as it is set to begin on 5 October 2023. So, seeing players in such a form, fans have shown their concerns and regarding that, the Team India head coach and the former Team India cricketer, Rahul Dravid came up with a request for them not to worry about the upcoming mega event.

“We've got some challenges on that front” - Rahul Dravid

After the loss in the fifth T20I, while speaking to the reporters, Dravid said: "Our one-day team is really different to the squad that we had here. But yeah, it didn't allow us the flexibility to change the combinations a little bit. But going forward, we've got to look at certain areas in which we can get better.”

“Finding depth in our batting has been an area we're trying to address. As these games go on, scores are becoming bigger ... even the West Indies had Alzarri Joseph coming in at number 11 and he can hit a mean ball. You have sides that have depth. We've got some challenges on that front," Rahul Dravid further added.

Dravid also said that the series loss is quite disappointing but for a young team, it can happen. "But that can happen. It's a young team, a developing team so there are going to be times when we have our ups and downs. Of course, we're disappointed. To be able to win from 0-2 down would have been special," he concluded.
