Meanwhile, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has come up with a blunt suggestion to the Indian cricket Board regarding the share of their revenue. He went on to advise the board that they should give half of their revenue to the development of other sports so that it can improve the condition of other sports in India.

“If it’s up to me, probably the BCCI should also go on and give 50 percent of revenue to all other Olympic sports, but it’s not up to me. Because 50 percent of revenue that is generated out of cricket is enough for cricketers. But the rest of the 50 percent can actually pick up all the other sports,” said Gambhir during the TURF 2022 & India Sports Awards organized by FICCI.
