The 24th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) took place between St Lucia Kings (SLK) and Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR). The coin went the way of TKR and they elected to bowl first. It was an innings of two halved for SLK. Johnson Charles was the first to go for a run-a-ball 13 with two fours. He was cleaned up by Jayden Searles. Roston Chase hit 32 off 31 balls with three fours and one six. He was caught by Searles of Waqar Salamkheil.

SLK skipper Sikandar Raza did not trouble the scorers a lot as he was caught by Searles of Sunil Narine for 8 off 8 balls. While wickets were falling around him and the batters were not converting their starts, Colin Munro kept putting pressure on the TKR bowlers. He made a cracking unbeatenย 72 off 51 balls with six fours and three sixes.
Andre Rusell made an unbeaten 29 off 13 balls to win the game for Trinbago Knight Riders
Sean Williams provided some support and made an unbeaten 34 off 17 balls with four fours and one six. SLK could get to only 167 despite the loss of three wickets in their 20 overs. Searles, Narine and Salamkheil took a wicket each for TKR. In the second innings, TKR suffered a big blow as Martin Guptill was caught by Peter Hatzgolou off Roston Chase. He made 16 off 15 balls with one four and one six.
Mark Deyal played a superb innings at the top of the order for TKR. The left-hander smashed 67 off 45 balls to give his side a great platform. Nicholas Pooran came in at number three but he did not have his best outing with the bat. He was caught by Hatzgolou off Alzarri Joseph for 15 off 11 balls with two fours and one six.
In the end, TKR showed who is boss as Lorcan Tucker and Andre Russell remained unbeaten to get their side home. Tucker hit 38 off 31 balls with three fours. Russell cracked a quickfire 29 off 13 balls with two fours and three sixes. TKR won by 7 wickets and with seven balls to spare to jump back to the top of the table in CPL 2023.

Waqas our newly inducted spinner was the wrecker in chief for JT and ably supported by Andre Russell, they hunted in pairs.
Chris green did give a scare to us but TKR fortunately ended up winning by 2 runs.
