Virat Kohli and Novak Djokovic will return to action as the two are set to entertain their fans. The Serbian will begin his defense of the Australian Open which begins on 14th January.

Virat Kohli will return to T20I cricket after 400 days and is set to play the second T20I versus Afghanistan. The two players have a good equation with each other and have mutual respect. 

On the eve of the second game in Indore, Kohli opened up about Novak Djokovic. "I've no doubts that we'll see the Novak Djokovic in this Australian Open that we've seen over the years. Australia is a wonderful place to visit, it's my favourite place to play cricket in. The love and support you get from Australians is amazing," he said.

Ahead of the Australian Open 2024, defending champion Novak Djokovic spoke about Virat Kohli. The Serbian star is believed to exchange texts with the former Indian skipper. Ahead of the Australian Open 2024 tournament, the 36-year-old spoke to broadcaster Sony Sports.

Djokovic revealed, “Virat Kohli and I have been texting a bit for a few years. We never got a chance to meet in person, but it was really an honour and a privilege to hear him speak nicely about me. I obviously admire all of his career and achievements. I started to play cricket, but I'm not very good at it. But I have a task to perfect my cricket skills before I come to India, and don't embarrass myself, when I'm there”

Meanwhile, Sumit Nagal who has entered the main draw will take on 21-seeded A. Bublik on Tuesday. The 26-year-old beat Alex Molcan in straight sets to reach the main draw of the tournament.

India heads into the second game of the Afghanistan series holding a 1-0 lead after their win in Mohali. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will open the innings as Shubman Gill will be rested. Apart from this, not many changes can be expected from the Indian team as they look to seal the series on Sunday.
