Rahul Tripathi made his international debut after playing in domestic cricket for a long period of 13 years since his List-A debut in 2010 for Maharashtra in a match against Baroda during the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The 31-year-old recently played his first-ever international match in the second of the recently concluded three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.

The Ranch-born lad didn’t have an expected outing in the debut appearance but he amazed everyone with a quick-fire cameo of 35 runs off just 16 balls with five boundaries and two sixes to his name before falling prey to Chamika Karunaratne on the penultimate delivery of powerplay’s last over.

Interestingly, Rahul Tripathi is also a part of the squad of team India for the upcoming 50-overs series against Dasun Shanaka’s men.
