Both the cricket teams haven’t featured in a bilateral series against each other since 2012. India and Pakistan lock horns only in Asia Cup and the tournaments hosted by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In addition, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also prohibited the participation of the Pakistan players in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor also admitted to the enmity between the two nations of the cricket field. When asked whether the rivalry between India and Pakistan has affected the entertainment industry too, the actor asserted that entertainment has crossed boundaries and they receive a lot of love and acknowledgement from the fans in Pakistan.

"The majority has been overall supportive. I refuse to believe that entertainment has not crossed borders and not connected people at times when it was not really possible due to the political environment and bureaucracy,” Arjun told Bollywood Hungama.

The actor is of the view that the tension between the two nations is limited to the game of cricket as otherwise, the people from both countries share a bond of friendship and love. The cricket matches featuring Pakistan and India fetch a lot of limelight and there is always pressure on players from both teams to give their best.

"Except for cricket, we have friendship and I just hope that friendship is kept alive and maintained,” he added, hoping that the "distance and vacuum that has been created goes away and we can co-exist with peace.
