Recently, Raja has once again come up with a controversial statement for the current chief of PCB, Najam Sethi. The former World Cup winner batter slammed Sethi for being a non-cricketer administrator of an institution that completely belongs to the cricketers.

It's not right when you don't let a system run smoothly - Ramiz Raja

"If you don't give enough respect to this great sport, the future is going to be very dark. It's not right when you don't let a system run smoothly and come to run the country's cricket with the help of nepotism and politics," said Ramiz Raja to Geo Super.

"You changed the constitution for the heck of it... to bring someone, perhaps your loyalist in. What is the use of a non-cricketer in cricket?... this should be the debate. This field is ours, we know what to do. We don't need crutches to run cricket like this administration is doing,” he added later.

Prior to this, the former skipper was also in controversy for not replying to a question from the journalist on Sarfaraz Ahmed’s exclusion from the team during Raja’s tenure as chief.

“Kya matlab hai is sawal ka, main uski jagah khelta? Main pad up karta kya khelne ke liye, usko na rakhne se mujhe kya fayda hona tha. Agar wo ab accha kar rha hai to ye Pakistan cricket ke liye achha hai, aage badhein ab. (What is the point of asking such a question? Was I supposed to play in his place? Was I going to wear pads and play in his place? I had nothing to gain by not picking him. It’s good for Pakistan cricket that he has done well now. Move on now,” replied Raja to Asif’s question.
