India won the first of the three-match Test series against Bangladesh by a margin of 188 runs to take a lead of 1-0 in the series. The star Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav impressed everyone in his comeback match after a long wait of 22 months. The 28-year-old scalped a total of 8 wickets in the match including a five-for in the match.

Subsequently, the Kanpur bowler won the player of the match award for his brilliant match-defining performance. Notably, Bangladesh was given a mammoth target of 513 runs in the second innings to win the match.

The Indian spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel scalped a total of 7 wickets to bundle up the hosts only on the score of 324 runs and eventually India won the match by a handsome margin.
