The T20 World Cup 2026 has reached its Super 8s stage, and England became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament. So far, West Indies and South Africa from Group 1 and England from Group 2 have won matches in the Super 8s, while Pakistan and New Zealand had a washout.
While Sri Lanka and Pakistan have played and will play the remainder of their games in Sri Lanka itself, other teams have to travel a lot more than others. Today, we’ll take a look at the teams who will travel the most in the T20 World Cup 2026.
Teams travelling the most in the T20 World Cup 2026 till the end of Super 8:
8. Pakistan—154 kms
Pakistan has had to travel the least in the T20 World Cup 2026. They have played all of their group and Super 8 matches in two Sri Lankan cities. They have played their matches at the Sinhalese Sports Club and the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele. They will not be traveling to India for any of the matches.
7. Sri Lanka- 770 kms
Sri Lanka, despite being the hosts, has traveled more than Pakistan, as they have had to travel to and fro from Colombo to Pallekele for alternate matches. They have played a handful of matches in two grounds in Colombo—the Sinhalese Sports Club and the R. Premadasa Stadium—and the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.
6. South Africa- 2958 kms
South Africa, thanks to playing all of their games in India, has had to travel over 2500 km. They played their first few games at Ahmedabad and then played a couple of games in Delhi. They returned to play their first Super 8s game in Ahmedabad and will now go to Delhi for a blockbuster clash against the West Indies.
5. New Zealand- 4475 kms
New Zealand has played most of their games in India but will also move to Sri Lanka for their Super 8 games. They began with their group games in Chennai and then moved to Ahmedabad as well. Their final group games were played in Chennai, but they will move to Sri Lanka to play their Super 8s stage games in Colombo’s two stadiums—Sinhalese Sports Club and the R. Premadasa Stadium.
4. England- 4486 kms
England started their T20 World Cup 2026 in Mumbai with a narrow win over Nepal and have become the first team to qualify for the semi-finals. After starting their World Cup in Mumbai, England played other group stage matches in Kolkata and then moved to Sri Lanka for the Super 8s stage. They have played matches in Pallekele and in Colombo.
3. Zimbabwe- 5776 kms
Zimbabwe has covered the majority of Sri Lanka and India in the T20 World Cup 2026. They upset Australia and Sri Lanka while playing on the island at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele and at the Sinhalese Sports Club and the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. But now, they have come to India to play their Super 8s games, with them playing West Indies in Mumbai, India in Chennai, and South Africa in Delhi.
2. West Indies—8297 kms
The West Indies have made a round trip of India in the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2026 and now will do so in the Super 8s as well. They started with games at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. They have been shuttling between Kolkata and Mumbai for most of the T20 World Cup and will also play at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
1. India—10,432 kms
The hosts, India, have traveled the most, including the T20 World Cup 2026 group stage and the Super 8s stage as well. They started in Mumbai and then played one game in Delhi. They had to travel to Colombo to play Pakistan as per the neutral venue agreement. They then played two games in Ahmedabad and will travel to Chennai and Kolkata for the remaining two games in Super 8s.
