After a hard fought win in the T20I series, the men in blue gear up for the English challenge in the 50 over format. The first match of the series will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on March 23. As per a report by Hindustan Times, the Indian team arrived in Pune on a chartered flight on Sunday at 4.45 PM. The team then went to Conrad Pune hotel where they’ll stay for the coming week. Many of the Indian players shared their journey updates on social media. Hardik Pandya shared a picture with his son Agastya on the flight while Rohit Sharma shared a selfie from a team bus.

India’s last ODI series was against Australia which they lost 2-1. England are the No 1 ODI team and will pose a stern challenge to the hosts. However, a win in the T20I series must have boosted India’s confidence. If India can clean sweep England in the ODI series, they’ll pip them to become the new No 1 ranked team in ODIs. If they manage to win the series 2-1, they’ll stay at no 2, even if New Zealand beat Bangladesh in the next two games. However, a series defeat will see India slip behind New Zealand as the third ranked team.
