Former Sri Lanka skipper Arjuna Ranatunga’s comment where he addressed India's white-ball specialist squad, that has travelled to Sri Lanka for a limited overs series, as 'B team' has not gone too well with a lot of experts, former players, and fans. It has also become one of the hot topics of discussion as many feel the comments were very disrespectful towards the Indian team.

The BCCI was forced to send a white ball specialist team on tour to Sri Lanka due to the unavailability of the main players, who are in England, preparing for the 5-match Test series against the 'Three Lions'. But with Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Hardik Pandya in the team, the squad as such doesn’t lack on the experience part that much.

One of the inexperienced players in the squad, middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav has now spoken about the comments made by Ranatunga. The 30-year-old stated the players are not too bothered about the remarks made by the former Sri Lanka skipper and said the team is instead focused on doing well.

“Not really (we don’t talk about that). Everyone is completely focused. The way the practice sessions are going, the way the game went yesterday, it’s going according to plan and we are excited about the challenge. We are not thinking about that (this being a second-string side). We are just here to have some fun, enjoy this series and take a lot of positives from here,” Suryakumar Yadav said in a virtual press conference from Colombo on Tuesday to Hindustan Times.
