“I am not out of form, but definitely out of runs” - Suryakumar Yadav makes a huge claim on his form

Indian T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav has finally broken the silence on his dry form ahead of the much-awaited ICC T20 World Cup 2026, stating that he has been batting beautifully in the nets.

Speaking in the post-match presentation ceremony after India’s comfortable seven-wicket victory in the third T20I against South Africa, Surya admitted that he hasn’t been out of form, but definitely out of runs.

“The thing is, I’ve been batting beautifully in the nets. I’m trying everything that’s in my control. And when the game comes, when the runs have to come, they’ll definitely come. But yes, I’m looking for runs, not out of form, but definitely out of runs,” said Suryakumar in the post-match presentation ceremony. 

“I think this sport teaches you a lot of things. How you come back into the series is more important. And we did the same thing, we wanted to go back to basics, do the same things we were doing in Cuttack, and the results were on our side,” he concluded.

Speaking about Suryakumar Yadav's form in the ongoing calendar year 2025, he has played 20 T20Is, scoring only 213 runs at an average of 14.2, with the highest score of an unbeaten 47-run knock.

Delving into the details of the third T20I in Dharamsala, South Africa was tasked to bat first after losing the toss. Aiden Markram was the top scorer with 61 runs in 46 balls as South Africa could post only 117 runs in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, and Kuldeep Yadav scalped two wickets apiece.

In the chase, India finished off the game in 15.5 overs with seven wickets in hand. Abhishek Sharma was the star batter with 35 runs in 18 balls, picking up three fours and as many sixes. With this win, India took a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20I series.
