“He is not a robot” - Suryakumar Yadav backs Jasprit Bumrah after an expensive spell vs Pakistan

Team India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has defended the Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah for leaking runs in the Super Four clash against Pakistan on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai.

For the unversed, Bumrah went on to concede 45 runs in his four-over spell, without scalping a wicket. Interestingly, it was batting all-rounder Shivam Dube who changed the game’s complexion with two important wickets in his four-over spell.

Speaking about Bumrah’s dry spell, Suryakumar Yadav, who attended the press conference after the game, has stated that the seamer isn’t a robot and he will have a few days. Moreover, he heaped praise on Dube for bailing India out of the tough situation. 

"That's fine, he's not a robot, he will have a bad day someday (talking about Bumrah). Dube bailed us out of the situation,” Suryakumar Yadav said in the post-match press conference.

At the halfway stage of the first innings, Pakistan looked like they were taking the game away from the Indian team with 91/1 in 10 overs. However, SKY’s decision to go ahead with Dube changed the game’s complexion as he scalped the big wickets of Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan.

"According to me, the turning point was in the first drinks in the first innings. People changed their body language after that. You always see the game change generally after the power play,” he added.

"But today, the game changed after ten overs, when the bowlers changed their line and lengths, understood what was needed in that situation, and showed a little more energy. The spinners bowled well. And according to me, Shivam Dube's spell, you can say that it was a turning point,” he concluded.
