Talking about Gill, his last appearance was against Lucknow Super Gianst (LSG) in IPL 2023 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. However, he couldn't even open his account and was dismissed in the second ball on a duck. Due to this, GT were able to score only 135 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. However, skipper Hardik Pandya steadied the ship and somehow helped the team to cross the 130-run mark.

In response, LSG batters were absolutely stunned by GT bowlers as they didn't allow them to open their hands. At one stage, it looked like that LSG would easily chase the target but that didn't happen as skipper KL Rahul didn't show the intent and got dismissed in the 19th over scoring 68 runs off 61 deliveries. Mohit Sharma was given the ball in the last over to defend 12 runs and he lived up to the expectation as GT won the match by 7 runs.
