In the 35th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 competition, the Mumbai Indians (MI) travelled to Ahmedabad to take on the reigning champion Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. After winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, Rohit Sharma disclosed that MI had made two changes: Riley Meredith had taken Jofra Archer's position, and Kumar Karthikeya Singh had replaced Hrithik Shokeen.

Despite Shubman Gill's 56 in 34 balls, it appeared that GT would end between 160 and 180, given how the MI bowlers were reversing the situation. Then, though, Abhinav Manohar and David Miller contributed 71 runs in just around 6 overs, turning the tide. David Miller scored 46 in 22 balls with 4 sixes and 2 fours, and Manohar scored 42 in 21 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Rahul Tewatia eventually helped GT to 207/6 in 20 overs with his 20* in 5 balls and 2 sixes.

Rohit Sharma was furious at Piysuh Chawla for his fielding errors

However, one moment during the innings left Rohit Sharma totally enraged at his teammate Piyush Chawla. Rohit Sharma was upset with Gujarat's power-hitting abilities in the slog overs. Chawla played well, finishing with 2/34 in 4 overs, but in Gujarat's innings' 17th over, he made a costly error in the field, prompting his skipper to become enraged with him.

Manohar squeaked the short third man, a yorker that Meredith had tossed about off. Chawla, stationed nearby, hurriedly picked up the ball and threw it, but he lost focus and missed it entirely. Replays of the incident showed Rohit Sharma yelling at Chawla for making a mistake. Chawla was also very dissatisfied with his attempts. Photos of the skipper looking angry have already done rounds on social media with fans reacting furiously.

Ultimately, Gujarat Titans won the match by 55 runs and are now placed second in the IPL points table with 10 points from seven games. At the same time, Mumbai Indians find themselves in the seventh spot with six points from seven games.
