Following the conclusion of the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League, the 73-year-old predicted that the J&K prodigy would get a call for the national side of India.

But recently, the 1983 World Cup winner batter took the extra mile ahead and said that Umran has excited him the most after the former legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar.

“One player I am most excited to see playing for India after Sachin Tendulkar is Umran Malik,” said Gavaskar during the pre-match show on Sony Liv.
