Every time India and Pakistan are up against each other, fans are treated to riveting action. This year in the T20 World Cup, it won’t be any different. The two Asian giants will lock horns on October 24 at the Dubai International Stadium. India have maintained complete dominance over Pakistan in T20 World Cups, similar to the 50 over World Cups, having won all their games. However, the Men in Green are a formidable T20I team with some genuine match-winners.
Former Pakistan cricketer Mudassar Nazar also feels Pakistan have enough quality in the team to surprise their neighbours.
"If you look at it strength-wise, they (India) are ahead of us. But if you look back at Champions Trophy, Pakistan won it. There too they had lost the first match against India but on the day Pakistan beat them in the final.
"This time around, if they can beat India, they would gain a lot of momentum," Nazar told Cricket Pakistan.
Nazar further warned Pakistan about the threat India opener Rohit Sharma poses. Nazar said Rohit Sharma will be a bigger threat for Pakistan than Virat Kohli. "Even Virat Kohli, who once scored heaps of runs, since the last 2-3 years, hasn't scored a century. He used to score hundreds after hundreds but his performance has come down a little too. In fact, more than Kohli, Rohit Sharma is the dangerman," Nazar told Cricket Pakistan.
Meanwhile, India vice-captain Rohit Sharma is all pumped up for the showpiece event. Celebrating India’s T20 World Cup win in 2007, Rohit took to Instagram and said the team will give everything to bring the cup back home.
"This @icc #T20WorldCup each one of us is going to give everything to repeat history. We're coming for it. India, let's make it happen. I am #InItToWinIt," said Rohit, who was part of the team that won the title in 2007 in South Africa, in an Instagram post.
