Team India and Andhra Pradesh cricketer Hanuma Vihari made some shocking revelations following his side's exit from the Ranji Trophy 2024 season. Andhra lost to Madhya Pradesh in the quarter-final match at Indore on Monday (February 26) and the veteran batter confirmed that it was his last match for the state.

In an emotional yet powerful post on his Instagram handle, Vihari explained the dispute with the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) and said he was embarrassed and humiliated. The root cause of the controversy was the 30-year-old's immediate shift from the team's captaincy, which he referred to as disrespect from the association.

Vihari stepped down from the leadership role after the opening league match and continued to play as a pure batter. Ricky Bhui was named captain for the remainder of the tournament. Vihari, who has played 37 first-class matches for Andhra, said that he was asked to resign from the post for shouting at his teammate Prudhvi Raj KN, who is the son of a politician.

“I was the captain in the first game against Bengal, during that game I shouted on 17th player and he complained to his dad (who is a politician), his dad in return asked the Association to take action against me. Although, we chased 410 against last year’s finalists Bengal I was asked to resign from captaincy without any fault of mine,” he wrote on Instagram.

"Kutty stories with ash “ Vihari Garu “ Meeru ready unnara ????," Ashwin wrote on his X handle in Telugu. Vihari, later, showed up to X and accepted Ashwin's invitation.
